When you need it
Mental health is the foundation of overall well-being. Instead of waiting until symptoms become overwhelming, a behavioral health visit lets you address small concerns before they grow. This is the heart of preventive mental health care: an honest conversation, a compassionate provider, and a personalized plan to help you feel like yourself again. At River City Medical Group in Little Rock, your mental health is treated with the same seriousness and care as your physical health — because the two are deeply connected.
Booking takes about two minutes. New patients of all ages are always welcome.
River City Medical Group provides comprehensive behavioral health care for patients of all ages. Your visit typically includes:
An in-depth conversation to understand your symptoms, history, and goals
Early screening for anxiety, depression, and other common concerns
An unhurried conversation about your history, lifestyle, and stressors
Ongoing review and adjustment of psychiatric medications as needed
Practical, personalized guidance built around your goals
Connections to therapy, psychiatry, or specialists as needed
Mental health needs change over the years, and so does the care you deserve. As a full-service behavioral health practice, River City Medical Group tailors each visit to your stage of life. A child may need a school counseling referral, a young adult may be navigating anxiety or life transitions, and an older adult may need support with grief, isolation, or cognitive changes. Because we serve as your ongoing mental health home, we get to know your story over time — making every visit feel familiar, not clinical. Choosing one behavioral health home in Little Rock means fewer scattered appointments and a provider who already knows you. We warmly welcome new patients of every age.
Screenings are part of every behavioral health visit, helping us catch concerns early — while they’re easiest to treat. Depending on your needs, your provider may screen for anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance use, and general emotional well-being. Every visit is different, so your provider will recommend only the screenings that make sense for you — nothing unnecessary, nothing missed.

Dr. Mohsin Altaf is the founder of the clinic and an Internal Medicine physician dedicated to providing thoughtful, personalized care to adults throughout Central Arkansas. He believes excellent healthcare begins with trust, open communication, and taking the time to understand each patient’s concerns, goals, and individual circumstances.
The clinic was established to provide accessible, comprehensive primary care in a welcoming and patient-centered environment. Our goal is to build lasting relationships with patients and support their health through every stage of adulthood.
